Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roy Peters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bernard Blackstone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peters comes to the cage accompanied by Sid Vicious - My Way. Roy Peters could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Bernard Blackstone's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roy Peters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bernard Blackstone!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blackstone throws a nice looking combination but Peters bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Peters shoots for a takedown but Blackstone saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Peters swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Blackstone cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Peters fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Blackstone manages to avoid it.
Blackstone connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Blackstone drives through and clinches with Peters against the cage.
Blackstone trying to land knees to the body.
Peters wants to break the clinch but can't.
Peters avoiding damage as Blackstone throws knees to the body.
Peters takes a knee right on the jaw!

Peters is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Bernard Blackstone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Blackstone uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Peters has time to react.

Blackstone tries to close the distance and clinch but Peters swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Peters drops his hands momentarily and Blackstone takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Peters displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Blackstone throws out the jab.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Peters lands a nice short elbow.
Peters not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Peters seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Blackstone for as long as he can get away with.

Blackstone might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Peters, as that shot connected.
Peters ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Peters shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Blackstone as he jumps to the side.

Peters seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Peters in particular looking to stall.

Peters working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Peters remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
