Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sake Chu (ranked 4671 p4p, 391 weight class) and Bill Shorton (ranked 2534 p4p, 257 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Chu might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Daughtry - Renegade. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shorton throws a right and a left that Chu avoids nicely.
Chu scores with a jab to the body.
Shorton waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Chu.
Chu fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Shorton on the side of the head.
We've been informed that Shorton has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Chu takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
We've been told by Chu's head coaches at Scotty's Yard that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
No joy there for Chu, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Sake Chu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Chu is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Chu wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Shorton has him pressed against the cage.

Chu lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Shorton lands a left hand that snaps the head of Chu backwards.

Chu breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Shorton tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A big left from Chu misses.
Chu drops Shorton with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Shorton looks back up at him and smiles so Chu waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Shorton is rocked!
Chu darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Shorton's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Chu before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Sake Chu!
After the fight, Sake Chu was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
Bill Shorton was interviewed post fight and said 'I HOPE YOU STUB YOUR DAMN TOE AND FALL UP THE STAIRS. '.
