Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kent Delaney! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kaneda Shotaro! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Delaney darts in looking for a takedown but Shotaro gets double underhooks and turns Delaney into the cage. Delaney fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Shotaro avoids it really well and circles away. Delaney scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Still in half guard, Delaney seems content to control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shotaro is trying to get back to full guard. Shotaro is looking to control Delaney's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Shotaro avoid being mounted?
That's one minute gone in the round. Delaney wants to stand but Shotaro has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Shotaro is pressing down on Delaney's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Delaney got a little sloppy there for a moment and Shotaro has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Delaney has managed to get both his arms back between Shotaro's legs - danger averted. Delaney working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Delaney wants to get up but he can't break Shotaro's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Delaney engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Delaney fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kent Delaney. That's going to take a lot out of him. Shotaro connects with a leg kick. Delaney looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Delaney shoots in and bounces Shotaro off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Shotaro looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Shotaro is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Delaney takes a little break here. Shotaro wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Delaney's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Delaney is trying to get an arm triangle but Shotaro is defending well.

Delaney has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Delaney working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shotaro thuds a left hand into Delaney's body. Kent Delaney is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Delaney shoots in looking for a takedown. Shotaro tries to sprawl out of it but Delaney keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Shotaro manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Delaney shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Shotaro sprawls well. Shotaro wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Delaney gets slowly back to his feet. Delaney looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Shotaro is fending him off so far but Delaney persists. Nope, Shotaro circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kent Delaney. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shotaro darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Delaney tries to clinch up. Delaney really is a fat lump. Shotaro shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Delaney's guard. Delaney tries to strike from the bottom.
Delaney uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Delaney shoots in and bounces Shotaro off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Delaney stays in close to Shotaro's body and controls the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shotaro thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Delaney stands up from Shotaro's guard - Delaney perhaps looking for a knockout. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Delaney closes this distance looking for a takedown but Shotaro circles away. Shotaro appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Shotaro drives through with a takedown into guard. Delaney is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Shotaro presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Delaney jumps into guard, dragging Shotaro to the mat.
Shotaro is in close to Delaney's body, working some short punches and elbows.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shotaro with a nice head shot there. Shotaro postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Delaney has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Shotaro off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. No luck for Delaney with that takedown attempt. Shotaro looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Delaney fails to land the takedown. Shotaro throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Delaney stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Delaney misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Delaney gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Kent Delaney overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Shotaro throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Shotaro working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Shotaro is in close to Delaney's body, working some short punches and elbows. Shotaro stands up over Delaney, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Shotaro won't allow Delaney to get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Kaneda Shotaro will probably get the nod - 10:9. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Shotaro keeping moving, preventing Delaney from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Shotaro is on top in guard.
Shotaro stands up over Delaney, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Delaney utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Shotaro loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Delaney keeping moving, preventing Shotaro from controlling successfully. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Delaney manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Delaney wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Shotaro has him pressed against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shotaro has Delaney pressed against the cage, preventing Delaney from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Delaney stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Shotaro decides to pull guard. Delaney not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Shotaro is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Delaney defends well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Delaney would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Delaney engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Delaney seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Shotaro for as long as he can get away with.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Delaney pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Shotaro is keeping the position for now.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Delaney drives through and clinches with Shotaro against the cage.
Shotaro tightens his grip and picks Delaney up, before dumping him to the ground. Delaney manages to land in guard. Shotaro working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Delaney's head. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Shotaro prevents Delaney from getting back to his feet. Shotaro trying to control the position from guard on top but Delaney is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Kaneda Shotaro. I think Shotaro has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
