Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Serge Sagar!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martinez tries for a takedown but Sagar sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Sagar closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Sagar works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Martinez pushes Sagar away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Sagar gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Sagar controls the position.
Martinez prevents Sagar from moving into mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sagar trying to control the action but Martinez is working from the bottom.
Sagar tries to score with some ground and pound. Martinez controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Martinez regains half guard there - taking advantage of Sagar's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Sagar tries to stand and escape but Martinez is controlling the position.

Sagar is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Sagar takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Sagar wants to control but Martinez is keeping him busy.
Martinez is looking to escape.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Sagar shoots in and bounces Martinez off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Sagar drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Martinez manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Sagar has Martinez in his guard.

Martinez wants to stand up but Sagar is controlling him.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Martinez is looking to stand up but Sagar isn't so interested in that idea.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



A momentary lapse in concentration from Martinez enables Sagar to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Martinez manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Martinez has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Sagar off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Sagar closes the distance and clinches.

Sagar manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Sagar wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Martinez can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sagar controls the pace.
Sagar has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Sagar's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Martinez is looking to stand back up but Sagar counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Martinez.
Sagar seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Martinez won't allow Sagar to pass to mount.
Martinez wants to stand back up but Sagar manages to pass into side control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Martinez is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Sagar asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Martinez is trying to get back to half guard.

Sagar advances nicely into full mount.

Serge Sagar showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Well Sagar has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
