Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Randy Randalman (ranked 4504 p4p, 451 weight class) and Felipe Cortez (ranked 4953 p4p, 471 weight class). Randalman comes to the cage accompanied by Creedence Clearwater - Fortunate Son. Cortez has chosen Vicente Fernandez - El Palenque as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Felipe Cortez!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Richard Clark and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Randalman avoids a punch combination nicely.
Randalman shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Cortez eats them both and turns towards Randalman to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.


It looks like Felipe Cortez has been cut.
Randalman throws a push kick but Cortez slaps the foot to one side.
Cortez looks to score with a jab to the body but Randalman is just out of range.
We've been hearing reports that Randalman has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Cortez lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Randalman with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Randalman defending well as Cortez loads up on a big left hand.
Randalman tries to counter with a takedown but Cortez is quick to defend against it.
Randalman throws a jab when Cortez was well out of range.
Cortez misses with a hook.
Randalman half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Randalman fails with a takedown attempt.
Cortez misses with a body shot.
Randalman misses with a double jab.
Cortez blocks a jab.
Randalman tries to clinch
and Cortez counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Randalman counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Cortez is looking to get back to full guard here but Randalman has managed to pass to side control instead.

Cortez tries to lock up and control but Randalman gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Randalman lands with some strikes.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cortez can do anything to dispel that myth.

Randalman has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Cortez is forced to tap!
