Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Char Xiu (ranked 1238 p4p, 152 weight class) and Braiden Mattison (ranked 6703 p4p, 532 weight class). Char Xiu has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Xiu misses with a hook. Mattison ducked under it nicely.
Mattison looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Xiu shoots in and gets a takedown into Mattison's guard.

Mattison really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Xiu. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Xiu wants to pass the guard but Mattison is keeping the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
