Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rafael Jimene!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carlos Salomanca!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jimene has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Jimene there as he acknowledges the shot.
Salomanca darts in trying to clinch

and Jimene counters with a nice double leg into side control. Salomanca won't be happy with that.
Salomanca wants to control but Jimene postures up.
A lull in the action here as Jimene stalls from top position.
Salomanca should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jimene's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Jimene advances to full mount.
Jimene controlling the position easily from mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jimene has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Jimene seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Salomanca for as long as he can get away with.
Salomanca has given up his back. Will we see Jimene going for some submissions?

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Salomanca is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Jimene.
Jimene controlling well, preventing Salomanca from escaping the position.
I would not like to be Salomanca right now.
Salomanca is trying to break free.
Jimene keeps control of the position easily here as Salomanca tries to buck him off.

Jimene is working for a rear naked choke. Salomanca is not defending it well and Jimene has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Salomanca refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Salomanca's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Rafael Jimene!
A relieved looking Rafael Jimene thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
