The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drips shoots for a double leg takedown but Pepper sprawls well. He's pushed Drips's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Pepper shoots in and drives through. Drips sprawls well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Drips makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Drips.
Pepper wants to control from the top but Drips keeps moving.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Drips can do anything to dispel that myth.

Drips looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Pepper has picked Drips up and slammed him! Drips can't keep hold of the triangle and Pepper manages to pass to side control!

Pepper is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Drips knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

That was a close round but I would say that Jo Jo Pepper will probably get the nod.
That's time! Pepper's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Pepper gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
so Drips counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Pepper has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Drips has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Pepper is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Pepper keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Drips's efforts to push away.
Pepper manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pepper has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Drips can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Drips slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Drips is trying to get an arm triangle but Pepper is defending well.
Drips thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Drips has an Americana. Pepper didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Drips is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Drips hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
