Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rex Gunn (ranked 4852 p4p, 107 weight class) and Grant Dukes (ranked 4850 p4p, 106 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rex Gunn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Grant Dukes! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Wagner Zegers and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dukes throws a jab when Gunn was well out of range. Dukes swings and misses with a shot to the body and Gunn counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Dukes scores with a hook to the body. Gunn takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Gunn fails in his attempt to clinch. Gunn avoids the body shot from Dukes.
Gunn throwing a counter right hand but Dukes manages to avoid it. Dukes lands a jab. Gunn connects with the punch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dukes bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. A countering left hand to the body from Dukes misses. Dukes jabs at Gunn's body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gunn lands with an overhand left. Gunn moves away from the strike by Dukes. Dukes looks to throw the jab but Gunn is out of range. Dukes slips under a jab. Gunn on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Gunn fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dukes manages to avoid it. It seemed like Dukes was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Gunn lands with a right hand. A cross from Gunn lands. Dukes scores with a shot to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dukes staying out of range there. Gunn throws a hook but Dukes blocks it. Dukes throws a shot from downtown. Gunn moves away and avoids it. It looked like Gunn wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Dukes throws a poor cross that misses
and Dukes takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Dukes scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Gunn on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Dukes uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gunn.

A close round but Grant Dukes will probably get the nod. That's time! Gunn's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Gunn blocks a jab. Dukes waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Gunn. Gunn takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Nice body punch from Gunn. and Gunn counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dukes throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gunn walks into a straight right hand from Dukes. Dukes with a nice cross. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Gunn scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Dukes needs to keep his hands up - Gunn had a free shot at his head there. Dukes steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gunn. Dukes missing with a left hand there. Gunn was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Gunn throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Dukes dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gunn fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dukes manages to avoid it. Dukes tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gunn was well out of range. Poor timing from Dukes. Dukes throws a lazy uppercut
and Gunn counters with a lovely shot to the body. Gunn misses with a straight right. Gunn misses with a looping right. Rex Gunn is winning the standup battle so far. Gunn misses with a lunging right hand
and Dukes counters with a stiff right hand. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Dukes pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Dukes lands a nice hook to Gunn's body. Gunn takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Dukes with a body punch. A glancing blow. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Grant Dukes will probably get the nod - 10:9. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

It looked like Gunn was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Dukes. Gunn misses with a hook
and Dukes counters with a nice body shot. Dukes scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Dukes uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. A looping hook to the body misses from Dukes. Gunn does a little dance to reset his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dukes gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Gunn throws a body shot but no joy. Gunn dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. A big left from Dukes misses. Dukes misses with a straight right. Dukes misses with a left hand and Gunn counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Gunn lands a slapping body shot.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gunn misses with a straight right. Gunn throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Gunn takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Gunn dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Grant Dukes is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Gunn misses with an uppercut.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rex Gunn. Well Dukes has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality.
