PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Liberal Stomper (ranked 706 p4p, 86 weight class) and Pax Africa (ranked 2901 p4p, 322 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Liberal Stomper has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Liberal Stomper seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling eachother endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.
Africa throws a hook but Stomper avoids it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stomper keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Africa.
Stomper appears to be looking for a big counter.
Stomper slips a jab from Africa.
Stomper is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Africa.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stomper scores with a nice right hand.

It looks like Pax Africa has been cut.
Stomper looks to score with a jab to the body but Africa is just out of range.
A telegraphed right hand from Stomper misses the target.
Africa changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Stomper misses with a lunging right hand

and Africa counters with a shoot takedown. Stomper fights it but they end up in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Stomper working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Africa.
Africa wants to control from the top but Stomper keeps moving.
Africa postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Africa trying to control the position from guard on top but Stomper is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Africa postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Stomper is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Africa, into his guard.

Stomper wants to get up but he can't break Africa's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Stomper stands up and waves to Africa to follow him.
Liberal Stomper is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A jab from Stomper misses.
Africa feints the counter takedown.
A looping hook to the body misses from Africa. Stomper does a little dance to reset his feet.
Stomper seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Stomper is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Stomper thuds his right hand into Africa's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Stomper uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Africa.
Stomper tries to counter by clinching up but Africa breaks away and moves out of range.
Africa ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Stomper moves away.
Stomper seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Africa takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Liberal Stomper will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Pax Africa's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Stomper rushes Africa with punches - Africa moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Africa goes down! Stomper follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Liberal Stomper!
