Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hobert Vance (ranked 4829 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyosuke Shibaraki (ranked 4115 p4p, 0 weight class). Shibaraki has chosen SAVAGE 101 as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hobert Vance! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kyosuke Shibaraki! The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shibaraki looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Vance! Shibaraki wants to lay and pray for a moment but Vance keeps working. Vance tries to buck Shibaraki off but Shibaraki is having none of it. Shibaraki is staying tight to Vance's torso, preventing him from escaping. Shibaraki tries to move to full mount but Vance actually manages to regain half guard. Vance is looking for a sweep. Shibaraki is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shibaraki is working for a submission of some sort.

That's one minute gone in the round. Shibaraki tries to stand and escape but Vance is controlling the position. Vance wants to control but Shibaraki is keeping busy and won't allow it. Vance flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Shibaraki stalling away here and it's allowed Vance to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Vance really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Shibaraki trying to control but Vance is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shibaraki wants to stand but Vance is controlling his posture from full guard. Shibaraki wants to control from the top but Vance keeps moving. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Vance not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Shibaraki closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Vance quickly recovers to half guard. Vance manages to escape and get back to his feet! Shibaraki shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Vance's guard. Vance avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Shibaraki postures up in Vance's guard and throws a big left but Vance blocks it. Vance has control of Shibaraki's left arm, preventing Shibaraki from doing any damage. Vance lands a couple of shots from the bottom.
Vance wants to sweep here but Shibaraki controlling him for the moment. Shibaraki trying to control the position from guard on top but Vance is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vance is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Vance controlling Shibaraki's posture. Shibaraki trying to control but Vance is working from the bottom. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Shibaraki throws a push kick but Vance slaps the foot to one side. Shibaraki clinches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Vance as Shibaraki tries to tie him up. Shibaraki breaks from the clinch.
Shibaraki misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Shibaraki decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Vance kicks off Shibaraki and gets to his feet. Vance takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Shibaraki throws a series of punches but Vance moves out of range. Shibaraki connects with a looping right hand.
Shibaraki tries to clinch up and Vance counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Kyosuke Shibaraki will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Vance gets caught flat footed, as Shibaraki shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Vance throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Vance controls Shibaraki momentarily but Shibaraki frees himself. Vance looking for a sweep. Not yet Vance, not yet. Hobert Vance overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Shibaraki connects with a couple of short punches. Shibaraki in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Shibaraki trying to control but Vance is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shibaraki postures up.

Vance is trying to get back to full guard. Vance wants to control but Shibaraki is keeping busy.
Shibaraki is pressing down on Vance's thigh, looking to free his foot. Vance is holding on for now. Shibaraki trying to control the action but Vance is working from the bottom. Vance blocking the ground and pound attempt from Shibaraki. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Vance keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Shibaraki moves in looking to clinch but Vance pushes him off. Vance tries to counter by clinching up but Shibaraki breaks away and moves out of range. Kyosuke Shibaraki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shibaraki lands with a nice body punch. Shibaraki thuds a left hand into Vance's body. Shibaraki changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Vance looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Vance is looking to reverse the position. Shibaraki is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Vance has escaped the position, nice work there. Vance tries to get back to half guard but can't. Vance can't do much from the bottom here. Vance manages to work his way to half guard, despite Shibaraki's best efforts.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shibaraki seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Vance is looking for a sweep. Shibaraki is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Shibaraki keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Shibaraki is trying for a kimura here. Vance looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Shibaraki wins by kimura!
