Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jack Ripper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ed Sterns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Ripper could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Ed Sterns's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Ripper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Ed Sterns!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Russell Pearce and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ripper uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sterns.
Ripper misses with a hook. Sterns ducked under it nicely.
Sterns will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Ripper throws a right hand that Sterns ducks under and follows up with a left that Sterns also avoids with ease.

Sterns moves away from the strike by Ripper.
Ripper throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Jack Ripper has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ed Sterns.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sterns sizes up Ripper with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Sterns uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ripper.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sterns thows a big elbow that misses.
Sterns wants to control from the top but Ripper keeps moving.
Sterns stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ripper swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sterns works over Ripper with some ground and pound from guard.
Ripper controls Sterns momentarily but Sterns frees himself.
Sterns with a flurry of punches that miss.

Sterns has gone for a leg lock! Ripper slips out almost immediately though and dives into Sterns's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ripper throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sterns works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Ripper trying to control the position from guard on top but Sterns is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ripper sitting in guard here, content to control.
Ripper postures up in Sterns's guard and throws a big left but Sterns blocks it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Ripper gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Sterns drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Ripper dives on top into guard.
Ripper looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Sterns looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jack Ripper will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Ripper swings away with a body shot that misses
and Sterns counters with a straight right hand.
Sterns bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
A shot to the body from Ripper misses
and Sterns makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Sterns lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Ripper takes a jab right on the kisser.
Sterns fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ripper manages to avoid it.
Sterns ducks straight into an uppercut from Ripper and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Sterns maanges to regain guard straight away.


Sterns is rocked!
Sterns tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Sterns is still in real trouble! Can Ripper finish him?

Sterns is looking for a triangle here but Ripper uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Ripper is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sterns knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ripper is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Sterns's shoulder. That is not cool.
Sterns seems to have recovered his senses.
Sterns tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Sterns is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ripper tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sterns tries to get back to half guard but can't.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Ripper looks to land a right hand but Sterns moved out of range.
The crowd cheers as Ripper lands an impressive looking overhand right. Sterns doesn't seem phased though.
Ripper throws an overhand right that lands on Sterns's shoulder, as Sterns tries to avoid the shot.
Ripper misses with a hook. Sterns ducked under it nicely.
Sterns switches off momentarily and Ripper cracks him with a monster right hand! Sterns topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Ripper dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Ripper!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jack Ripper!
