Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Vee (ranked 432 p4p, 6 weight class) and Aki Hiko (ranked 799 p4p, 37 weight class). Vee kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Da Mystery of Chessboxin by Wu-Tang Clan. Aki Hiko has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
30 - 13 - 1, fighting out of London, Brandon Vee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aki Hiko! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Chris Edwards and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hiko lands with an uppercut that bounces Vee off the cage and back into range. Hiko misses with an uppercut. Vee saw that one coming. Hiko throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Vee on the side of the head. Hiko keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Vee. Nice straight punches there by Vee. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Vee. Hiko bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Hiko has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Hiko shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Vee is trying to defend but Hiko finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Vee pushes Hiko off and gets back to his feet. This has been an exciting period of action! Hiko looks to land a left hand but Vee moved out of range nicely. A counter left hand to the body from Vee misses its target. Hiko misses with a two punch combination.

Vee throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Hiko does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Hiko avoids the body shot from Vee.
Vee tries to move into range but Hiko moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Hiko moves away from the strike by Vee. Vee throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hiko sees it coming and avoids it easily. Hiko drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Vee defends it well. Hiko dives in for a single leg takedown but Vee sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Hiko bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Vee's head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hiko shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hiko lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Hiko manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Vee on his heels. He'll look to pass Vee's guard now, I'm sure. Hiko loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Vee wants to get back to his feet but Hiko is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Vee has his feet on Hiko's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Vee jabbing away but nothing is landing. Hiko with the counter takedown but Vee avoids it easily. Vee with a hook. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Brandon Vee. Well Vee has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
