Song has chosen Oldboy OST - The Last Waltz as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 1, fighting out of London, Ethan Wright!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Leondardo Song!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Chris Edwards and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wright feints and as Song raises his hands in defense, Wright changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Wright scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Song looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Wright has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Wright got a little sloppy there for a moment and Song has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wright has managed to get both his arms back between Song's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wright with a nice head shot there.
Song bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wright's guard.

Song trying to control but Wright is working from the bottom.
Song stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wright swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Song wants to control from the top but Wright keeps moving.
Wright has his hands on Song's head, controlling the position.
Song looking to pass the guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Song controlling from the top position.
Song preventing the sweep.
Song stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wright swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Song slips nicely into half guard.
Song prevents Wright from improving his position.
Wright is positioning himself well to prevent Song advancing to mount.
Song wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wright keeps working.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Song is looking for a kimura here.
Wright trying to control but Song postures up.

Song is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Wright has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Song is working away from the top position though.
Song trying to control from half guard but Wright is working away.
Song stalling.

Song is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Wright sees it coming and defends easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Song seems to be looking for submissions.
Song tries to pass the half guard into mount. Wright knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Wright slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Song passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Wright is not content to let Song control the position.
Song slows the pace down.
Wright can't do much from the bottom here.

Wright tries to improve position but can't.

Song looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
You can see the frustration on Wright's face as Song controls the position.

Song is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Wright is trying to escape and Song transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Wright is forced to tap! Nice work there by Song! Very nice indeed!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Leondardo Song!
A relieved looking Leondardo Song thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
