Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mike Charles (ranked 3682 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Stark (ranked 5836 p4p, 0 weight class). Charles comes to the cage accompanied by Renegades Of Funk - Rage Against The Machine. Stark is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Can't Be Touched. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mike Charles! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Steven Stark! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stark misses with an uppercut. Charles lands with a shot to the body. Charles shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Stark tries to kick Charles off but Charles keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Charles is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Stark doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Charles. Still in half guard, Charles seems content to control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Charles tries to pass to full mount but Stark defends it. Stark scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Charles manages to mount him!
That's one minute gone in the round. Charles controlling from mount. Charles dominating with strikes here. Stark really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Charles. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Charles scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Stark is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Stark is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Charles is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Stark can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Charles is standing up, even though he is in mount. Stark throws a series of punches but Charles avoids them all with ease. Charles clinches up against the cage. Charles lands a nice uppercut. Charles fails to pull guard.
Stark looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Charles tries to score a body lock takedown but Stark shows good agility there to stay on his feet. A short right from Charles on the inside.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stark wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Stark has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Charles tries to pull guard but Stark won't allow it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Charles. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Charles is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Stark can't fight it off and eventually Charles manages to take the fight to the floor. Stark looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Charles is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Charles stands and steps away. Stark gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Stark rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Charles counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Stark is wriggling around but Charles manages to pass to half guard.
Charles takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Charles content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Charles working Stark over with strikes. Charles decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. A combination from Stark does no damage. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Charles!
Stark throws a right and a left that Charles avoids nicely. No joy there for Stark, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Stark, as that shot connected.
Charles bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Charles working the ground and pound. Charles creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Charles is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Charles decides to stand back up. Charles steps back and let's Stark get back to his feet. Steven Stark seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Stark swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Charles pushes Stark up against the cage in a clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stark tries to circle away but Charles has him pinned against the cage. Charles ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Charles no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Charles looking for a triangle here. Stark is fighting it but it looks tight! Charles pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Stark is tapping out - this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Mike Charles! Mike Charles was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
