Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Duggan (ranked 3471 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ichabod Crane (ranked 2469 p4p, 0 weight class). Duggan comes to the cage accompanied by Five Finger Death Punch- Bad Company . Crane has chosen Love Inc!-Broken Bones! as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jim Duggan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
26 - 20 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ichabod Crane! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Bruno Lombardi and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crane shoots and misses and Duggan counters with a nice double leg into guard. Duggan wants to control from the top but Crane keeps moving. Crane is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Crane wants to sweep but no luck. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Crane is on top in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Duggan looking for a sweep. Not yet Duggan, not yet. Duggan lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Crane tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crane is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Crane wants to sweep but no luck. Crane wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Duggan is pushing down on Crane's leg trying to pass to half guard. Crane is fighting to maintain full guard but Duggan has managed to sneak the leg through. Crane tries to kick Duggan off but Duggan keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Duggan is trying to control. Crane wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Crane is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Duggan prevents Crane from standing back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Duggan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Crane keeps working. Crane is looking to escape. Crane is looking for a sweep. Duggan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Duggan wants to free his trapped foot but Crane is holding on for dear life with his legs. Duggan stops Crane from getting back to his feet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Crane is looking to chop away at Duggan's legs. Duggan shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Duggan was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Duggan is looking to take a break and control but Crane is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Crane is pushing Duggan's head away, looking to escape. Duggan manages to hold on to the position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Crane manages to get back to half guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Crane is trying to stand back up but Duggan is controlling him
Duggan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Crane keeps working. Crane is trying to stand back up but Duggan is controlling him
Duggan trying to mount his opponent but Crane defends it. Crane tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Duggan manages to move to mount!
Crane slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Crane manages to escape and get back to his feet! Duggan keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Duggan feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Crane wants to get back to his feet but Duggan passes into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Duggan wants to pass the guard but Crane is defending well. Crane trying to control from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Duggan prevents Crane from standing back up.

Jim Duggan dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Jab, jab by Crane - just one landing. Crane tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Duggan defends well and Crane ends up having to push Duggan into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Duggan shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Duggan was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Crane tries to get back to half guard but can't. Duggan looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Crane wants to get back to his feet but Duggan drags him back down. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Crane prevents Duggan from moving into mount. Crane manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crane kicks off Duggan and gets to his feet. Duggan shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Duggan showed some decent athleticism there. Crane is trying to escape back to his feet but Duggan uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Duggan working away. Crane wants to get back to his feet. You can see the frustration on Crane's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Crane tries to improve position but can't. Crane is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Duggan's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Duggan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Crane does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Crane is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Crane kicks Duggan off and gets back to his feet. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Duggan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Crane looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Duggan working away. Crane pushes Duggan away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Duggan gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Crane sneaks out the side door and pushes Duggan away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Crane pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Crane throws a jab when Duggan was well out of range. Crane shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Duggan as he avoids it easily. No joy there for Crane, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Duggan instigates a clinch. Duggan content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Crane breaks from the clinch.
Duggan looking to score a takedown here. Crane is defending well but Duggan drives through and ends up in Crane's guard. Jim Duggan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Duggan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Crane is keeping the position for now. Duggan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Crane wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Duggan manages to pass to side control. Crane is trying to stand up here but Duggan is controlling him well. Duggan trying to control the action but Crane is working from the bottom. Duggan tries to pass the half guard into mount. Crane knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Duggan controlling the action here. Crane is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Duggan's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Duggan's back! Crane is persistently looking for the submission but Duggan is defending it well.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Crane is looking for a rear naked choke here but Duggan reverses the position brilliantly into Crane's guard!

Ichabod Crane showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Duggan slips a jab from Crane. Crane throws a jab but it's blocked by Duggan. Crane ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Duggan moves away. Duggan manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Crane on his heels. He'll look to pass Crane's guard now, I'm sure. Duggan pushing down on Crane's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. Jim Duggan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ichabod Crane. Duggan stalling in the clinch but Crane improves position. Crane wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Duggan has him pressed against the cage. Crane wants a takedown but no success here.
Duggan has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Crane regains guard immediately. Crane uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Crane takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Duggan fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Crane to the ground. Duggan is now in Crane's guard. Duggan trying to control but Crane is working from the bottom. Crane has control of Duggan's left arm, preventing Duggan from doing any damage. Duggan is standing up over Crane. Crane looks to escape but Duggan dives into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Duggan tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Crane tries to buck Duggan off but Duggan is having none of it. Crane manages to work his way to half guard, despite Duggan's best efforts. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Crane is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Crane is trying to stand back up but Duggan is controlling him

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Ichabod Crane. I think Crane has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
