Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Henry Mckinney! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Blaxlan Koca! The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Bruno Hogan and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mckinney gets the takedown into side control. Koca struggling a bit here. Koca tries to improve position but can't. You can see the frustration on Koca's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Koca is positioning himself to get back to half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Koca struggling a bit here. Koca is looking to regain half guard here but Mckinney keeps moving and retains side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Koca wants to control but Mckinney postures up. Koca wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land. Mckinney tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Koca can't do much from the bottom here. Koca gets back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Mckinney sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Koca defending well though. Koca has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mckinney is working away from the top position though.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Koca gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Koca pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Mckinney gets in close and instigates a clinch. Mckinney fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Mckinney is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Koca to keep the fight standing. Koca's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Koca closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Still in half guard, Koca seems content to control. Mckinney looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Koca looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Let's hope that Koca has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Mckinney is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Koca pulls his head out easily.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Mckinney tries to sprawl but Koca drives through with a takedown into half guard. Koca seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Koca is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Blaxlan Koca dominated that round. That's time! Mckinney's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Koca moves into the clinch. Mckinney tries to pull guard but Koca holds him up against the cage and eventually Mckinney drops back down to his feet.
Koca manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Koca escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Koca. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Koca slows the pace down. Koca working the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mckinney wants to get back to his feet. Koca content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Koca working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Mckinney is rocked! Mckinney taking punishment in the form of punches.
Oh Mckinney is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Koca decides to stand back up. Koca rushes Mckinney and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Mckinney is trying to pull guard but Koca has him pressed against the cage. Koca turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Koca manages to end up in side control. Koca cracks Mckinney with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Koca immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Mckinney is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Koca!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Blaxlan Koca!
