Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between Ryu Takemura (ranked 4223 p4p, 428 weight class) and Dustin Queen (ranked 5799 p4p, 499 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ryu Takemura! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dustin Queen! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Thiago Cunha and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Queen punishes Takemura's body with a nice straight punch. Takemura lands with a straight right. Queen didn't see that one coming. Queen is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Takemura. Takemura misses with a two punch combination.
Queen ducks under a wild hook from Takemura. Queen cracks Takemura with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Takemura falls off balance throwing a combination
and Queen counters with a right hand to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice defenses there by Queen. Queen throws a good cross that connects.
Takemura misses with a body punch
and Queen counters with a stiff right hand. Takemura has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Soul Supremacy Rio in the buildup to the fight.
That's one minute gone in the round. Takemura throws a jab but it's blocked by Queen. A swing and a miss from Takemura. Takemura misses with a double jab.
Takemura displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Queen throws out the jab. As Queen looks to move away, Takemura throws a big counter combo but Queen just gets out of the way. Queen throws a nice looking combination but Takemura bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Queen throws a series of punches but Takemura avoids them all with ease. Takemura ducks under a wild hook from Queen. As Queen looks to move away, Takemura throws a big counter combo but Queen just gets out of the way. Takemura throws a combination. Queen tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Takemura throws a series of punches but Queen moves out of range. Queen is looking for the big counter here. Takemura slips under a jab from Queen. A little feinted left hand from Takemura on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Takemura rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Queen connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Takemura takes a swing at Queen's ribcage but misses. Takemura ducks under a wild hook from Queen. Takemura throws a series of punches but Queen avoids them all with ease. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Takemura cracks Queen with a good jab. Queen throws a body shot but no joy. Queen throws out a loose jab but Takemura uses good head movement to avoid it. Queen pushing out the jab but it's not landing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Dustin Queen will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Takemura throws a shot from downtown. Queen moves away and avoids it. Queen dodges the punch combination from Takemura.
Takemura moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Queen throws a body punch but Takemura moves out of range. Queen fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Queen lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Queen steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Takemura. Takemura is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Takemura misses with an uppercut. Queen saw that one coming. Takemura takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Takemura throws a combination that misses and Queen connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Takemura clobbers Queen with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Queen jabbing away but nothing is landing. Takemura was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Takemura swings widly with a right hand
and Queen makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Queen ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Takemura throws a lazy right hand but Queen sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Queen! But no joy. Takemura misses with a right hand and Queen counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Takemura ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Sloppy strikes from Takemura. Those never looked like landing. Ryu Takemura is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Takemura throws a body punch but Queen moves out of range. As Takemura backs off Queen throws a huge counter combo but Takemura manages to avoid it all. Queen steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Takemura. Queen does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Dustin Queen will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

and Queen counters with a nice uppercut. Takemura avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Takemura misses with a wild body shot. Queen scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Takemura doesn't seem bothered though. Queen tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Takemura was well out of range. Poor timing from Queen. A big right from Takemura misses. and Takemura counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Queen swinging wildly here.

Takemura avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Nice defenses there by Queen. Queen throws a body shot but no joy. Queen connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Takemura momentarily.
Dustin Queen seems to be getting the better of the standup. Some wild striking there from Takemura.

And that's the end of the fight! Dustin Queen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Queen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
