Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jean Pierre Leone (ranked 4304 p4p, 429 weight class) and Alphaios Alevizos (ranked 3393 p4p, 366 weight class). Alphaios Alevizos is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alphaios Alevizos!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alevizos defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Leone.
Alevizos looking to score a takedown here. Leone is defending well but Alevizos drives through and ends up in Leone's guard.
Alevizos pushing down on Leone's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Alevizos seems to be working for a kimura but Leone defends the submission attempt.
Leone punching from the bottom.
Alevizos is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Leone doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Alevizos.
Leone makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Leone.
Alevizos is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Alevizos slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Leone throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Leone misses with an elbow from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Leone tries to strike but it doesn't land.
Alevizos has hold of Leone's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Leone tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Alevizos cranks the arm and Leone screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Leone, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Alphaios Alevizos!
