The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hayes looks for a takedown but Corvin sprawls well. Hayes with a lazy takedown attempt and Corvin counters with a two punch combo. Hayes misses with a takedown attempt and Corvin counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rafael Hayes. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hayes fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Corvin leaves Hayes with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Hayes looks to clinch and Corvin counters with a series of strikes. Hayes will be more careful next time no doubt. Rafael Hayes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hayes shoots in but no luck this time. Corvin lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Hayes misses with a takedown attempt - Corvin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. As Hayes backs off Corvin throws a huge counter combo but Hayes manages to avoid it all. Hayes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Corvin as he jumps to the side. Hayes is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hayes looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Hayes shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Corvin sprawls well. Corvin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hayes gets slowly back to his feet. Despite the aggression on Corvin's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Hayes shoots in looking for a takedown but Corvin manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hayes's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Hayes shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Corvin counters with a two punch combo.

Hayes with a poor takedown and Corvin counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Hayes shoots and misses and Corvin counters with a huge uppercut, hook combination that drops Hayes! The ref has seen enough - he's dived in to stop the fight! Brutal strikes by Corvin!
