The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Madden gets caught flat footed, as Sonnen shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Madden pulls Sonnen in close to prevent any damage.
Madden working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Sonnen.
Sonnen is in close to Madden's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Sonnen works over Madden with some ground and pound from guard.
Sonnen throws a strike but Madden rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Madden throws an elbow that misses. Sonnen uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Madden's guard. Nice move by Sonnen!
Sonnen must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Sonnen arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Madden's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
