Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Adan Dalton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rodney Rodgers!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Kavanagh and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodgers lands a two punch combo.


It looks like Adan Dalton has been cut.
Dalton could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Rodgers fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Dalton sprawls well initially but Rodgers persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Dalton is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.
Rodgers throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Dalton might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Dalton sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Dalton is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Rodgers is defending well.
Dalton changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Rodgers fights it off and pushes away nicely.

and Rodgers connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Rodgers has managed to clinch.
Rodgers throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Rodgers is pressed up against the cage. Dalton has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Rodgers down to the mat. Rodgers avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rodgers has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Rodgers shoots in and bounces Dalton off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Rodgers seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rodgers thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dalton's head.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Rodgers sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Rodgers has control of Dalton's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Dalton regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Rodgers lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Rodgers drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Dalton is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Dalton throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Dalton tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Rodgers manages to circle out of the way.

Rodgers drops Dalton with a beautiful combination! Dalton stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Rodgers is looking for the KO!

Dalton is holding his hands too far apart here. Rodgers throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Dalton is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!
