Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Santosh Nagasaki (ranked 443 p4p, 22 weight class) and Oskar Friman (ranked 502 p4p, 25 weight class). Nagasaki's entrance music is Execute Plan: Nuclear Tortoise. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Santosh Nagasaki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Oskar Friman! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Donald Grub and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nagasaki closes the distance and lands a one-two. Friman throws a low kick but Nagasaki avoids it. Nagasaki swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Friman counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Friman throws an overhand right that lands on Nagasaki's shoulder, as Nagasaki tries to avoid the shot. Nagasaki lands a nice shot to the body.
Nagasaki connects with a single shot there. The crowd cheers as Nagasaki lands an impressive looking overhand right. Friman doesn't seem phased though. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Friman has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Friman looks for a takedown but Nagasaki sprawls well. Nagasaki pushing out the jab but it's not landing. A jab from Nagasaki misses. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A cross from Friman lands. Friman tries to clinch there but Nagasaki circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nagasaki jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Friman throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Nice cross by Friman. Friman throws a nice looking combination but Nagasaki bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Nagasaki was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Friman throws a left and a right that both miss
and Nagasaki counters with a left to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Friman misses with a hook. Friman takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Nagasaki shoots in for a takedown but Friman shows good takedown defense. Nagasaki connects with a body shot that sends Friman's belly button to the back. Friman tries to bum rush Nagasaki with a series of wild strikes but Nagasaki uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Friman throws a combination that misses letting Nagasaki counter with a right hand. Friman moves out of range of the strikes. Friman feints the counter takedown. Friman slips under a jab. Friman shoots in for a takedown but Nagasaki shows good takedown defense. It looked like Nagasaki wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Nagasaki darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Friman is trying to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nagasaki wants to control but Friman is keeping him busy. Nagasaki thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Nagasaki throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Friman trying to control from the bottom.
Friman is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Nagasaki scores with a couple of nice shots. Nagasaki landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Friman is positioning himself well to prevent Nagasaki advancing to mount. Nagasaki seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Friman does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nagasaki throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Friman regains full guard. Nicely done. Nagasaki working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Nagasaki throws a strike but Friman rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nagasaki managing to control the position. Nagasaki has momentary wrist control but Friman slips an elbow through the middle. Nagasaki can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Friman controls the pace. Nagasaki tries to land a sweep but no joy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Santosh Nagasaki dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Nagasaki looks to land a left hand but Friman moved out of range nicely. Nagasaki is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Friman can do to turn this around? Friman slips a jab from Nagasaki. Friman throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Nagasaki counters with a stiff right hand. Friman tries to clinch up but Nagasaki circles away and keeps his distance. Nagasaki gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Nagasaki misses the shot to the body. Nagasaki misses with a takedown and Friman counters into the clinch. Nicely done. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nagasaki swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Nagasaki ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Nagasaki no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Friman wants to control from the top but Nagasaki keeps moving. Nagasaki controls Friman momentarily but Friman frees himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Friman working some strikes from top position. Friman throwing strikes but missing. Nagasaki looking to hit a scissor sweep but Friman is one step ahead there. Friman is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Nagasaki keeping moving, preventing Friman from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Nagasaki tries to land a sweep but no joy. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Friman is stalling in the full guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Friman takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Nagasaki misses with a hook. Friman wants to counter with a clinch but Nagasaki pushes him away. A bone on bone clash there as Nagasaki blocks the leg kick.
Nagasaki swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Friman. Nagasaki drops his hands momentarily and Friman takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Friman scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Nagasaki is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice strikes from Friman there. Friman lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Nagasaki trying to control but Friman postures up.

Friman looks to land a strike but Nagasaki avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Nagasaki keeping moving, preventing Friman from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Friman controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Let's hope that Friman has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Friman trying to control but Nagasaki is working from the bottom. Friman trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Nagasaki is pulling down on Friman's head. It's preventing any offense from Friman, at least for the moment.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. A nice combination there by Nagasaki.

That was a close second round but I would say that Santosh Nagasaki will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Nagasaki connects with a single shot there. A slow jab from Nagasaki misses its intended target. A jab from Friman finds it's way through Nagasaki's defenses. Friman with a poor takedown and Friman takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. No luck for Friman with that takedown attempt. Friman scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Friman is figuring out what he wants to do next. Friman prevents Nagasaki from improving his position. Nagasaki gets full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Friman loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Friman throws a strike but Nagasaki rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Nagasaki slips nicely into half guard. Nagasaki thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Friman's head. Friman wants to control but Nagasaki is keeping busy and won't allow it. Nagasaki wants to pass the guard but Friman is defending well. Friman moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Friman wants to sweep here but Nagasaki controlling him for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nagasaki trying to control the position from guard on top but Friman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Nagasaki throws a strike but Friman rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Friman's corner is telling him to maintain position. Friman postures up in Nagasaki's guard and throws a big left but Nagasaki blocks it. Nagasaki is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Friman postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Friman looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Friman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Friman working some strikes from top position. Friman trying to control the position from guard on top but Nagasaki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Oskar Friman has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Friman lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Friman swings widly with a right hand
enabling Nagasaki to counter with a crisp jab. It looks like Nagasaki has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Friman defending well as Nagasaki loads up on a big left hand. Friman closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Nagasaki tries to pull guard but Friman forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Nagasaki softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Nagasaki throws a punch but it's blocked by Friman. Nagasaki misses with a body punch.
Friman throws a head punch that misses. Nagasaki pulls guard successfully.
Nagasaki keeping moving, preventing Friman from controlling successfully. Friman is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Friman controls from within his opponent's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Santosh Nagasaki. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Nagasaki, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
