The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Colin Fotheringham and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
It looks like Herschel Nunez has been cut.
Carter shoots in and gets a takedown into Nunez's guard.
Nunez has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Carter is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Carter pulls guard successfully.
Nunez would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Nunez postures up in Carter 's guard and throws a big left but Carter blocks it.
Carter is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nunez postures up in Carter 's guard and throws a big left but Carter blocks it.
Carter is trying to control the position but Nunez postures up.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nunez drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Nunez jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Nunez prevents Carter from getting back to his feet.
Carter tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Carter is working an open guard so Nunez takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Carter darts in and clinches Nunez up against the cage.

Carter jumps into guard, dragging Nunez to the mat.
Nunez avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Nunez trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Carter is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Nunez defends well.
Carter looks winded!
Nunez with a flurry of punches that miss.
Carter looking for a sweep. Not yet Carter , not yet.
Nunez throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Nunez stands and steps away. Carter gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Carter tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nunez paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Nunez gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Carter to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Carter really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nunez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Nunez looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Carter is defending well. Nunez quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Carter has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Nunez celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
