0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Patrick Sherley! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Andrew Berry and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sherley tries to close the distance and clinch but Bond swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Bond is looking to counter with head kicks. Bond dodges the punch combination from Sherley.
Sherley pushes Bond up against the cage in a clinch. Sherley tries to stall but Bond uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Bond breaks the clinch.
Bond throws a sloppy head kick and Sherley moves out of range easily. Sherley keeps the fight on the outside. A head kick misses from Bond. Sherley only half commits to the counter leg kick. Sherley fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sherley scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Patrick Sherley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sherley fails in his attempt to clinch. Sherley clinches. Bond tries to score a body lock takedown but Sherley shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Sherley managing to block the knees to the body from Bond.

Sherley drives through and clinches with Bond against the cage.

Sherley utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Sherley wants to get back to his feet but Bond is in a dominant position and won't allow it. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Bond throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bond stands up over Sherley, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sherley tries to clinch but Bond is having none of it. Bond tries to clinch up but Sherley circles away and keeps his distance. Sherley feints and as Bond raises his hands in defense, Sherley changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Bond has his feet on Sherley's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Sherley swats away the attempt to clinch by Bond. Sherley has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Sherley moves out of range of the body kick. Bond takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Sherley misses with a kick to the body.

Bond tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sherley swats him away and circles back towards the center. Bond on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Bond gets a clinch.

Sherley pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Bond wants to clinch up but Sherley keeps it at a distance. The fight moves into the clinch position. Sherley manages to break the clinch.

Bond throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Bond keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Sherley moves into range and connects with a jab. Bond throws a wild body kick that Sherley sees coming a mile off. Bond has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Sherley looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Bond pushes Sherley off and gets back to his feet. This has been an exciting period of action! Both fighters circling a little - Bond finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Sherley.
Bond throws a push kick but Sherley slaps the foot to one side. Sherley listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Patrick Sherley seems to be getting the better of the standup. Sherley lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Patrick Sherley showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Bond's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Sherley throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Sherley tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Rusty Bond is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Sherley fails to land the takedown. Rusty Bond has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrick Sherley. Bond forces Sherley back against the cage and clinches. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sherley prevents the takedown attempt.
Bond tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Sherley just stands there and leans against the cage. Sherley manages to break the clinch.
Sherley doesn't succeed with the takedown and Bond cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Bond lands a two punch combo.
A low kick from Sherley is predictable there and Bond counters with a three punch combo that has Sherley backing up. Sherley nods at Bond to acknowledge the strikes. Sherley fails with the takedown and Bond counters with a stiff right hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bond clinches up with Sherley and pushes him back against the cage. Bond tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Sherley avoids it. Sherley manages to break the clinch.

Sherley is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Bond rather than just go for the knockout. Sherley lands with a right hand. Sherley just misses with a punch to the body.

Patrick Sherley is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Sherley gets tackled into the cage by Bond. Bond maintains the clinch. Sherley breaks the clinch.

Bond closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Sherley is working Bond over against the cage. Bond tries for a takedown. No joy.

This has been an exciting period of action! Bond showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Sherley.
The fight stays on the outside here - Bond looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Rusty Bond has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Bond gets caught napping as Sherley dives in and scores a takedown. Bond manages to retain guard.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rusty Bond. I think Sherley has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
