PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rustam Uzdenov (ranked 2442 p4p, 267 weight class) and Seung Woo Kim (ranked 5179 p4p, 468 weight class). Seung Woo Kim told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kim shoots for a takedown but Uzdenov saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Kim shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Uzdenov pinned against the cage. Uzdenov gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kim enables Uzdenov to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kim manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Uzdenov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kim on the ground.
Kim lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Uzdenov is looking for a triangle but Kim pushes his legs off easily.

Kim avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Kim keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Uzdenov's head.

Kim drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Kim seems to have locked his on tight now - Uzdenov screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Kim, as he picks up the win!
