Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ren Akita (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keiji Hizaoka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ren Akita! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Keiji Hizaoka! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Sano and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Akita looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Hizaoka! Akita moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Hizaoka has worked his arm free - good work by Hizaoka!
Hizaoka tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Akita wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Akita is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hizaoka is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Hizaoka really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Akita. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hizaoka is trying to improve his position. Hizaoka is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Hizaoka is trying to control Akita's posture but Akita avoids it. Akita is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hizaoka knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Akita misses with the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Akita is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hizaoka has escaped the position, nice work there. Akita misses with the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hizaoka tries to bench press Akita off him but Akita keeps the position. Hizaoka is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Akita is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Akita laying and praying for a moment but Hizaoka takes advantage and regains half guard. Akita is looking to take a break and control but Hizaoka is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Akita trying to pass the guard but Hizaoka defending well.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Horrible takedown by Akita or perhaps it was just good defense by Hizaoka which made him look bad. Hizaoka misses with a takedown attempt and Akita counters with a shoot takedown. Hizaoka fights it but they end up in guard. Akita trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Akita trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Hizaoka manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hizaoka trying to stand up but can't free himself from Akita's guard. Hizaoka looks gassed! Akita looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hizaoka is one step ahead there. Hizaoka trying to control the position from guard on top but Akita is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Akita is controlling Hizaoka's posture.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Hizaoka wants to clinch up but Akita keeps it at a distance. Akita connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Hizaoka momentarily.
Akita feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hizaoka wants to sweep but no luck. Hizaoka keeping full guard, as Akita tries to pass. Hizaoka wants to hit a switch here but Akita passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Hizaoka there! Akita looking to secure an arm triangle but Hizaoka defends it well. Akita postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Hizaoka looks a forlorn figure.
Akita content just to control the position here. Akita is trying to take his opponent's back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ren Akita dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Hizaoka shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Akita's guard. Akita is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Hizaoka looking to pass the guard. Akita is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Hizaoka is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Akita is on top in guard.
Hizaoka is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hizaoka is breathing heavily. Akita passes Hizaoka's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hizaoka is looking to escape. Akita wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hizaoka keeps working. Akita with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Akita has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Akita landing punches. Akita trying to control but Hizaoka is having none of it. Hizaoka is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Akita looking to isolate an arm here. Hizaoka doesn't see it coming and as Akita extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Akita!
