The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Klitschko throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Velasquez was covering up waiting for the punch and Klitschko finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Klitschko postures up in Velasquez's guard and throws a big left but Velasquez blocks it.
Klitschko controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Velasquez wants to stand up but Klitschko is controlling him.
Klitschko in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Velasquez wants to hit a switch here but Klitschko passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Velasquez there!

It looks like Benton Velasquez has been cut.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee warns Velasquez that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
