Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Omer Rutledge (ranked 5012 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tristan Finch (ranked 5015 p4p, 367 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Omer Rutledge! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tristan Finch! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Finch fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rutledge, pushing him back against the cage. Rutledge gets control of Finch's arms and successfully pulls guard. Rutledge will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Finch is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Rutledge is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Finch is aware though and is defending well. Rutledge could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Finch controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Rutledge keeping moving, preventing Finch from controlling successfully. Finch postures up in Rutledge's guard and throws a big left but Rutledge blocks it. Finch works a leg free and moves into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rutledge tries to get to full guard but Finch has control of the leg. Rutledge blocking the ground and pound attempt from Finch. Finch with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Finch seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rutledge does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Finch is working for a submission of some sort.

Finch scoring with strikes to the body and head. Rutledge slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Finch controlling from the top position. Finch gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Rutledge tries for a takedown but Finch circles away easily and Finch holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rutledge jumps guard but Finch stands there with Rutledge around his waist. Rutledge gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Finch wants the takedown. Rutledge is fighting it off but Finch persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Rutledge's guard against the cage. Finch drops back looking for a leg! Rutledge is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rutledge manages to kick Finch off! Finch jumps back into Rutledge's guard. Rutledge tries to land a sweep but no joy. Finch is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Finch trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Rutledge is working an open guard so Finch takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Rutledge gets caught napping as Finch dives in and scores a takedown. Rutledge manages to retain guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Finch sitting in guard, not really doing much.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Finch's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Rutledge is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Finch gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Finch closes the distance and pushes Rutledge back into the cage. Nice body punch from Finch. Finch is defending well against a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Omer Rutledge. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rutledge drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Finch gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Rutledge is breathing heavily. Rutledge is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Finch pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Rutledge might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Finch looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Finch scrambles and gets back to his feet.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Finch pulls Rutledge into guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rutledge won't allow Finch to sweep him here. Rutledge postures up.
Finch lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Rutledge stands up over Finch, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Finch is controlling Rutledge's posture. Finch is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Rutledge is in close to Finch's body, working some short punches and elbows. Rutledge throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Rutledge has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Rutledge working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Finch is pulling down on Rutledge's head. It's preventing any offense from Rutledge, at least for the moment. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Finch trying to control the position.

Rutledge got a little sloppy there for a moment and Finch has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rutledge has managed to get both his arms back between Finch's legs - danger averted. Rutledge postures up and lands a big shot to Finch's brow.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Finch looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Rutledge looking to hit a scissor sweep but Finch is one step ahead there. Tristan Finch showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Rutledge shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Finch pinned against the cage. Finch gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. And Finch tries to counter it with a takedown but Rutledge pushes his down on his head and steps out. Finch shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rutledge napping and manages to drive through into side control! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Finch tries for a kimura but Rutledge is defending well. Rutledge is looking for a sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Finch trying to control the action but Rutledge is working from the bottom. Finch decides to stand back up. Finch steps back and let's Rutledge get back to his feet. Finch dives in and grabs Rutledge's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rutledge pushes down on Finch's head and hops out. Finch throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Rutledge tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Finch is in Rutledge's guard. Finch stops Rutledge from standing up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Finch stands and steps away. Rutledge gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Finch closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rutledge to the mat! Rutledge manages to get full guard. Finch is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Rutledge working for submissions but it's allowed Finch to get to half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Finch perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Finch uses his free foot to push down on Rutledge's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Rutledge. Finch controlling from mount. Rutledge is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Finch controlling the position easily from mount. Rutledge is trying to escape the mount.
Finch looking to secure an arm triangle but Rutledge defends it well. Finch scoring with strikes but Rutledge is staying in there.
It looks like Omer Rutledge has been cut. Rutledge is looking to get to half guard. Finch looking to isolate an arm here. Rutledge doesn't see it coming and as Finch extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Finch!
