The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sousa lands with an overhand left.
Sovrein takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Sousa.
Sovrein changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sousa tries to avoid it but Sovrein manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sousa to the ground. Sousa escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Sovrein closes the distance and clinches up with Sousa, looking for a takedown. Sovrein pushes Sousa against the cage but Sousa circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Savyy Sovrein overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Sousa has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Sousa is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Pedro Sousa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
