Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lucio Valdez (ranked 4989 p4p, 0 weight class) and Francisco Dimasalang (ranked 23987 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lucio Valdez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Francisco Dimasalang! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dimasalang shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Valdez as he avoids it easily. Dimasalang is looking to clinch. Dimasalang tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Valdez counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Dimasalang closes the distance and pushes Valdez back into the cage. Dimasalang drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Valdez tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Dimasalang just stands there and leans against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dimasalang tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Francisco Dimasalang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Valdez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Dimasalang fails with an attempt to clinch.

Dimasalang looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Dimasalang looks winded! Dimasalang tries to score a power double leg takedown but Valdez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dimasalang somewhat. Valdez is looking to counter punch. Dimasalang fails to land the takedown. Valdez is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Dimasalang. Dimasalang gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Valdez counters with a one-two to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dimasalang tries for a takedown but Valdez circles away easily and Valdez counters by clinching up. Dimasalang changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Valdez fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Valdez manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Dimasalang on his heels. He'll look to pass Dimasalang's guard now, I'm sure. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Valdez lands a couple of elbows. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Dimasalang drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Valdez manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Dimasalang has Valdez in his guard. Valdez lands a couple of decent looking shots. Valdez working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Valdez is looking to work some ground and pound but Dimasalang has wrist control.

Valdez lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Dimasalang is looking for a sweep. Valdez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Dimasalang trying to control here.

Dimasalang is looking to control Valdez's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dimasalang avoid being mounted? Lucio Valdez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Valdez winds up and cracks Dimasalang with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Dimasalang pushes Valdez off looking to stand but Valdez dives back in and keeps control.

He's hooked one of Valdez's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Valdez's back! Valdez looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!!
