Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jane Dizon (ranked 5020 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Smart (ranked 4999 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jane Dizon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Peter Smart!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Jonathan Paton and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smart darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Dizon kicks Smart off and gets back to his feet.
Smart takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Smart has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Dizon drives through with a takedown into guard.
Dizon wanted to stand there but Smart had control of the position.
Smart keeping full guard, as Dizon tries to pass.
Smart looking for a sweep. Not yet Smart, not yet.

Smart thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Smart is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Dizon passes Smart's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Smart is looking for a sweep. Dizon is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Smart tries to roll over but Dizon keeps him under control.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Dizon is nestled in close to Smart, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Smart is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Dizon scores with a couple of nice shots.
Dizon is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Smart tries to roll over but Dizon keeps him under control.
Smart is not content to let Dizon control the position.

Dizon lands with a punch from half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Dizon lands a nice short elbow.
Smart landing strikes from the bottom.

Smart looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Smart can do anything to dispel that myth.
Smart is pressing down on Dizon's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Smart looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dizon is one step ahead there.
Smart avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Dizon throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Smart works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Dizon prevents Smart from getting back to his feet.
Dizon cracks Smart with a solid left hand.
Dizon is breathing heavily.
Dizon loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Smart looking for a sweep. Not yet Smart, not yet.

Smart has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dizon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Smart is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
A nice combination there by Dizon.

Dizon closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Smart did well to prevent Dizon getting side control.
Smart is trying to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Smart moves into range and clinches up with Dizon.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Dizon.
Dizon misses with a takedown attempt - Smart sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jane Dizon. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Smart is trying to control the action in half guard but Dizon is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Smart tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Smart is working for a guillotine from mount but Dizon frees his head quite easily.
Smart is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Dizon can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Smart can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Dizon is looking to escape.
Smart has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Dizon's face.
Smart looking to control but Dizon is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Smart looking to secure an arm triangle but Dizon defends it well.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Peter Smart showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Smart gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Dizon drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Smart gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Dizon has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Smart is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Smart jumps guard and drags Dizon to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Smart is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Smart is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Dizon to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Dizon shrugs it off.

Dizon is squirming around, avoiding Smart's attempts to control the action.
Dizon tries to reverse the position but Smart maintains control.

Smart goes for an armbar but Dizon turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Dizon.
Dizon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smart swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Smart is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Dizon wants to get back to full guard.

Smart stands up out of the half guard.
Dizon misses with a double jab

and Smart counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Dizon!

You can see the frustration on Dizon's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Peter Smart comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Smart has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
