Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James McGuire (ranked 3003 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Plunkett (ranked 3696 p4p, 0 weight class). McGuire comes to the cage accompanied by Metallica - Enter Sandman . The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, James McGuire!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jake Plunkett!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Dmitry Maklakov and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Plunkett gets tackled into the cage by McGuire. McGuire maintains the clinch.
Plunkett has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. McGuire is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Plunkett can't break the clinch.
McGuire pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
McGuire lands with a hook. Plunkett tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
McGuire has Plunkett up against the cage in a clinch.
McGuire pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
McGuire clinches with his opponent.
McGuire definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
McGuire breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
McGuire scores with a body shot.
James McGuire seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McGuire has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
It looks like James McGuire has been cut.
McGuire drives through and clinches with Plunkett against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
McGuire turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Plunkett tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but McGuire presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
McGuire breaks from Plunkett's wrist control and lands an elbow.
That's one minute gone in the round.
McGuire is landing with some decent strikes but Plunkett is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Plunkett is rocked!
Plunkett takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! McGuire's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James McGuire!
Jumping up and down and very excited, James McGuire waved his t-shirt featuring Velocity Fightwear's logo in front of the cameras.
