PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between No Way (ranked 1436 p4p, 170 weight class) and Jah Wobble (ranked 1290 p4p, 156 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, No Way!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jah Wobble!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Way misses with a kick to the body

and Wobble counters with a shoot takedown. Way fights it but they end up in guard.
Wobble trying to control but Way is working from the bottom.
Wobble postures up in Way's guard and throws a big left but Way blocks it.
Way knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wobble on the ground.
Wobble trying to control the position from guard on top but Way is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Wobble advances position into side control!
Sloppy strikes there by Wobble.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wobble is looking to take a break and control but Way is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Wobble fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Wobble works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Wobble throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Wobble has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Way is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Wobble asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Wobble has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Wobble thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Way's head.
Wobble wants to control but Way is keeping him busy.
Wobble working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Way's thigh. Way counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Wobble sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Wobble throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Way works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Wobble swats away the attempt to clinch by Way.
Way swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Way throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Wobble counters by moving into the clinch.
Wobble is looking for a takedown up against the ropes. Way gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Wobble has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Way breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A right-left combo lands from Way.


It looks like Jah Wobble has been cut.
Way goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

and Wobble counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Way wants to stand but Wobble is controlling the position.

Wobble distracts Way with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Way will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Wobble is putting a hurting on Way here, landing some big shots from side control.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

That was a close second round but I would say that No Way will probably get the nod.

I think Wobble has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
