Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wesley Storm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Micheal Duffy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Storm's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Why Can't We Be Friends?. Wesley Storm has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Wesley Storm!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Micheal Duffy!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Reed Andrews and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Storm feints and as Duffy raises his hands in defense, Storm changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Storm throwing strikes from guard but Duffy blocks nicely.
Duffy not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Storm controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Storm has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Duffy is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Storm is controlling him.
Duffy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Storm thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Duffy pulls Storm in close to his closed guard and prevents Storm from doing any damage or advancing position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Storm looks to land a right hand but Duffy moved out of range.
Storm fails to land the takedown.
Duffy tries to land a front kick but Storm steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Storm will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Duffy wants to clinch up but Storm keeps it at a distance.

Storm closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Storm tries to advance to mount but Duffy denies him.
Duffy managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Storm.
Duffy is looking for a sweep.
Storm wants to lay and pray for a moment but Duffy keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Duffy dodges the ground and pound from Storm.
Duffy pushes Storm away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Storm gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Storm trying to control the action but Duffy is working from the bottom.
Storm is breathing heavily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Duffy paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Storm.
Storm is looking to take a break and control but Duffy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Duffy is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Storm off and has taken his back!

Storm is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Duffy wants to control but Storm is keeping busy.

Storm rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Storm is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Duffy pulls his head out easily.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Duffy misses with a takedown

and Storm counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Storm.
Storm in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Duffy escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Storm gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Duffy has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Duffy.
Storm shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Duffy pinned against the cage. Duffy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wesley Storm. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A decent looking cross lands there for Duffy.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Duffy cracks Storm with a nice body shot.
Duffy presses Storm against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Duffy lands with a short shot to the head.

Duffy is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Storm gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Duffy doesn't manage to clinch there - Storm circles away.
Duffy cracks a nice hook into Storm's ribs.
Duffy connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Storm takes Duffy's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Duffy is in trouble.

Duffy is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Storm gets his way!
Duffy turns into Storm and is now in his guard.
Duffy postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Storm has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Duffy can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Storm working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Duffy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Duffy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Duffy fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Wesley Storm is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Storm shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Duffy as he avoids it easily.

Duffy moves into the clinch.

Duffy jumps into guard, dragging Storm to the mat.
Storm trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Storm trying to control but Duffy is working from the bottom.
Duffy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Storm is one step ahead there.
Storm pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Duffy is keeping the position for now.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Storm drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Storm jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Micheal Duffy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Duffy moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

and Storm decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Duffy's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Duffy is on top in guard.

Storm had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Duffy is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Storm Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Duffy's back instead.
Duffy tries to roll but Storm sticks to his back.
Duffy controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.

Storm looking to break Duffy's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Duffy remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Storm will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Storm controlling well, preventing Duffy from escaping the position.
Storm cracks Duffy with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Duffy from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Storm's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Storm is working for a rear naked choke. Duffy is not defending it well and Storm has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Duffy refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Duffy's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
