Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ricardo Alvarez!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
A telegraphed right hand from Alvarez misses the target.
Alvarez shoots in for a double leg but Michael sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Alvarez fails to land the takedown.
Alvarez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Michael looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Michael connects with a looping right hand.
Michael slips under a jab from Alvarez.
Michael feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Alvarez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Michael sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Alvarez somewhat.
A little feinted left hand from Michael on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Balbus Michael has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricardo Alvarez.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Alvarez tries for a takedown but Michael circles away easily
and Michael connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Michael scores with a jab. Alvarez acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Alvarez connects with a looping right hand.
Alvarez lands with a right hand.
Alvarez has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Michael finds it's way round the side to connect with Alvarez's head.
Alvarez loads up on a big right hand but Michael slips the punch.
Sloppy strikes from Alvarez. Those never looked like landing.
Michael scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Alvarez doesn't seem bothered though.
Michael ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Balbus Michael is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Alvarez dives in for a single leg takedown but Michael sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Nice straight punches there by Alvarez. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Alvarez.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Michael feints and then cracks Alvarez's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Alvarez down.

Alvarez shoots in and drives through. Michael sprawls well.

Alvarez tries for a takedown but Michael circles away easily
and Michael counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Alvarez throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Michael counters with a low kick, right behind Alvarez 's knee.
Ricardo Alvarez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Michael throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A chopping leg kick lands by Michael.
Alvarez misses with a takedown
and Michael counters with a left to the body.
Alvarez looks winded!
Michael bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Alvarez's head backwards.
Alvarez misses with an uppercut
letting Michael counter with a right hand.

Michael lands a slapping body shot.
Alvarez on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Michael throws a body shot but no joy.
Michael throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Alvarez looks to score with a jab to the body but Michael is just out of range.
Michael throws a big counter combination but Alvarez scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Michael is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
No joy there for Alvarez, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Michael swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Alvarez closes this distance looking for a takedown but Michael circles away.
Michael stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Alvarez blocks a head kick by Michael.
Michael lands a leg kick that knocks Alvarez off balance momentarily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Alvarez looks to land a right hand but Michael moved out of range.
Michael loads up on a big right hand but Alvarez slips the punch.
Alvarez throws out a counter right but Michael avoids it with no problem.
Michael dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Alvarez. That did some damage!
Michael fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Alvarez has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Alvarez blocks a low kick nicely.
Alvarez throws a looping overhand right but Michael ducks down to avoid it.
Jab, jab by Michael - just one landing.
Alvarez takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Balbus Michael dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Michael misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Alvarez.
Alvarez takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Alvarez's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Michael lands a leg kick that knocks Alvarez off balance momentarily.
Alvarez misses the body punch
and Michael cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Alvarez misses with a right hand
and Michael counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Alvarez shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Michael but Michael pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Nice cross by Michael.

Alvarez shoots in for a takedown but Michael shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Michael lands with an overhand left.
Alvarez is aggressively charging in as Michael backs up avoiding any damage. Michael tosses out a jab and Alvarez runs right into it face first! Alvarez is out cold! Michael dropped down on all fours and is barking in Alvarez's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Balbus Michael!
Balbus Michael spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
