Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Koichi Kamei (ranked 363 p4p, 49 weight class) and Pentti Pentele (ranked 1079 p4p, 127 weight class). Pentele has chosen Dreams of Retribution as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Koichi Kamei! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pentti Pentele! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kamei fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pentele manages to avoid it. Kamei tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pentele was well out of range. Poor timing from Kamei. Pentele unleashes a big counter combination but Kamei bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Kamei ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pentele moves away. A big left from Pentele misses. Kamei looks to score with a jab to the body but Pentele is just out of range. Kamei closes the distance and lands a one-two. Sloppy strikes from Kamei. Those never looked like landing. Kamei moves out of range of the strikes. Kamei appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Kamei paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Kamei fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pentele manages to avoid it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pentele thows a left - swing and a miss! Pentele has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Kamei throws a shot to the body.
Kamei swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Kamei throws a lazy right hand but Pentele sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Decent striking displayed by Pentele there. Pentele avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kamei is looking to wear down Pentele with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Pentele lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kamei circles away quickly and effectively. Kamei with a body punch. A glancing blow. Kamei cracks Pentele with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Pentele walks into a straight right hand from Kamei. Kamei misses with a body shot
and Pentele counters with a left and a right that stings Kamei. Kamei swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. As Kamei backs off Pentele throws a huge counter combo but Kamei manages to avoid it all. Kamei keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kamei tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Pentele manages to circle out of the way. Pentele has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kamei finds it's way round the side to connect with Pentele's head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kamei tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pentele swats him away and circles back towards the center. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Pentele! But no joy. Kamei is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Pentele scores with the left hand. Kamei knows he should have avoided that one. That's two minutes gone in the round. Pentele lands with a thumping leg kick.
Kamei swings for the body but Pentele moves out of range.
Pentele throws out a counter right but Kamei avoids it with no problem. Kamei scores with a sloppy right hand. Pentele should have avoided that one. Kamei misses the shot to the body. Pentele looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Kamei misses with a wild body shot. Kamei misses with a shot to the body and Pentele counters with a nice uppercut. Kamei tests Pentele's chin there with a solid looking shot. Kamei walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Kamei connects with a nice looking jab.
Kamei bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Kamei lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Pentele takes a body punch but keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Kamei, as that shot connected.
The fighters circling - Pentele throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Kamei throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Pentele counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Pentele finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Kamei looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Pentele lands a nice looking body shot.
Pentele with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Kamei to score with a decent uppercut. Koichi Kamei seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kamei ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pentele moves away. Kamei defending well as Pentele loads up on a big left hand. Pentele on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Kamei looks to clinch and Pentele counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Pentele throws a jab when Kamei was well out of range. Kamei jabs at Pentele's body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kamei works Pentele's body with a nice hook. Pentele lands a left and a right that send Kamei crashing to the mat, dazed. Pentele thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Kamei is rocked! Pentele walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Oh Kamei is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Pentele keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kamei jabbing away but nothing is landing. Kamei slips a straight right by Pentele. Pentele lands a big uppercut and Kamei crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Kamei looks OK. Pentele waves Kamei back to his feet! Kamei is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Kamei dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Pentele throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Pentele closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Kamei! Pentele dives in looking to finish! Kamei is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pentti Pentele! After winning the bout, Pentti Pentele thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
