These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petrov throws out a powerful jab.
Shamrock feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Petrov sprawling to the canvas! Petrov rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Shamrock finish him?!
Petrov is rocked!
It looks like Vasil Petrov has been cut.
Shamrock decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Shamrock rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Petrov moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Shamrock throws a wild body kick that Petrov sees coming a mile off.
A decent looking cross lands there for Petrov.
Shamrock closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Petrov to the mat! Petrov manages to get full guard.
Petrov trying to keep a closed guard but Shamrock is proving a slippery customer.
Shamrock drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Shamrock seems to have locked his on tight now - Petrov screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Shamrock, as he picks up the win!
