Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Isreal Wong (ranked 4825 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tarik Mello (ranked 4381 p4p, 426 weight class). The key to victory for Isreal Wong has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wong shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mello napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Wong throws a strike aimed at the side of Mello's head but Mello avoids it well.
Mello gets back to half guard.
Wong could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
It looks like Wong is going to stand back up.
Mello regains full guard. Nicely done.
Wong won't allow Mello to sweep him here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mello is pulling down on Wong's head to control his posture.
Wong throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mello works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Mello is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Mello winds up and cracks Wong with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Mello wants to pass the guard but Wong is defending well.

Mello looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Wong with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

You can see the frustration on Wong's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Mello cracks Wong with a big right hand but Wong just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Mello loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Wong scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Mello land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Mello stands and salutes the crowd.
