Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lane Tate (ranked 5897 p4p, 479 weight class) and Rick Young Young (ranked 5899 p4p, 478 weight class). Young has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Lane Tate could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Rick Young Young 's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lane Tate! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rick Young Young ! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tate changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Young tries to avoid it but Tate manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Young to the ground. Young escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Tate pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Young clinches. Young looks winded! Tate pulls guard successfully.
Tate looking for a sweep. Not yet Tate, not yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tate looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Young passes into side control.
Tate tries to buck Young off but Young is having none of it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tate is trying to escape the position but Young is controlling the position. Tate is looking for a sweep. Tate takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tate wants to get back to his feet but Young drags him back down. Tate knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Young on the ground. Tate is looking for a sweep. Tate could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Young takes a little break here. Tate wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Tate can't do much from the bottom here. Young trying to control the position but Tate is working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Young wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Tate, who protects the arm well. Young tries to move to mount but Tate blocks the move with his legs. Tate bucks up and tries to throw Young off but instead Young has got his back! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Young is not going to allow Tate to sit and survive in this position. Tate tries to break free.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Young is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Tate is defending well though. Young let's go of the attempt for now. Young is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Tate needs to remain patient if he's going to get out of this sticky situation. Young is not going to allow Tate to sit and survive in this position. Young thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tate tries to escape but Young has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Young gets his hands free as Tate looks to control. Tate rolls, trying to escape but Young keeps control of the position.

Young has the hooks in. Tate is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Young tries to keep control of the position but Tate is staying busy. Tate trying to control the hands but Young won't let him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Young slaps away a takedown attempt from Tate, before circling back to the center of the mat. Tate throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Lane Tate is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Tate shoots in looking for a takedown but Young manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Tate's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Tate instigates a clinch. Tate struggles to land a body shot inside as Young controls his hands.
Young 's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Young closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tate is looking to reverse the position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. You can see the frustration on Tate's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Young postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Tate tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Young wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. The strikes coming from Young are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Young wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Tate, who protects the arm well. Tate tries to strike but it doesn't land.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Tate wants to control but Young postures up. Tate avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Young . Tate is trying to get back to half guard.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Tate looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Young is fending him off so far but Tate persists. Nope, Young circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lane Tate. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tate shoots in for a takedown but Young shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Tate tries to sprawl but Young drives through with a takedown into half guard. Tate trying to hold on to Young 's head to control him but Young postures up.
Young passes the guard and advances to mount!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Young controlling the pace for now. Young throwing strikes here but Tate is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Young thowing shots but they're missing. Young looking to control but Tate is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Tate wants to control but Young is having none of it. Young stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Tate pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Tate dives in and grabs Young 's left leg, looking for a takedown. Young pushes down on Tate's head and hops out. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Young defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Tate. Young scores with a takedown into Tate's guard. Tate trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rick Young Young showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Young closes the distance and clinches. Tate wants to break free but Young has control.
Both fighters working to control the clinch. Young pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. No luck with that takedown attempt from Young . Young keeps the fight on the outside. Young has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Nice sprawl there from Tate as Young shoots in. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tate tries to clinch but Young moves out of range. Tate misses with a head kick.

Young takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Tate looks to land a body kick but Young moved away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tate tries to score with a low kick but Young moves his leg out of the way. Tate shoots in but no luck this time. Tate shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Young pinned against the cage. Young gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Tate tries to clinch up but Young circles away and keeps his distance. Tate shoots in and drives through. Young sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lane Tate. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tate misses with a takedown and Young holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Young is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Tate can't fight it off and eventually Young manages to take the fight to the floor. Tate looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Young postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Young passes Tate's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Young wants to control but Tate is keeping him busy. Tate kicks off Young and gets to his feet. Young shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Tate napping and manages to drive through into side control! Tate is looking to get back to his feet here but Young is keeping cool and he's managed to take Tate's back. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Young somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Young is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Tate taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Young .
