Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Percy Cunningham! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ken Specht! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Wagner Zegers and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cunningham fails in his attempt to clinch. Cunningham fails in his attempt to clinch. Good shot there by Cunningham. Cunningham on the wrong end of a nice hook. Specht pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Specht throws a head kick that Cunningham semi-blocks.
Cunningham misses with a few strikes there.

Specht moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Cunningham is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Cunningham darts in and clinches Specht up against the ropes. Cunningham is trying to break the clinch but Specht has him pressed against the ropes. Cunningham is trying to break the clinch but Specht is controlling him. Specht told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Specht. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Specht stalling in the clinch but Cunningham improves position. Specht manages to break the clinch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Specht connects with a crisp jab. The fight stays on the outside here - Cunningham looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Specht looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cunningham tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Specht throws a right hand that Cunningham ducks under and follows up with a left that Cunningham also avoids with ease. Cunningham uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Specht. Cunningham wants to clinch. Specht looks like he wants to counter punch here. Cunningham is looking to clinch. Cunningham scores with a jab and follows up with an uppercut that drops Specht to his knees! He bounces straight back to his feet but is forced to take the mandatory standing 8 count before he's allowed to continue. We're back under way and the fighters meet in the middle of the canvas to re-engage.
It looks like Ken Specht has been cut. Specht connects with a high kick. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cunningham grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Specht takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Cunningham cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Percy Cunningham!
