Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Mehoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Teddy Love (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Love is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: wait a min. The key to victory for Jack Mehoff has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jack Mehoff!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Teddy Love!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mehoff fails with a takedown attempt.

Love feints and as Mehoff raises his hands in defense, Love changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Love with a flurry of punches that miss.

Mehoff working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Love has passed into half guard!

Love looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Love trying to mount his opponent but Mehoff defends it.
Mehoff tries to get to full guard but Love has control of the leg.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Love wants to take a breather but Mehoff is having none of it.

Love is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mehoff sees it coming and defends easily.
Mehoff tries to roll over but Love keeps him under control.
Mehoff is trying to control but can't.

Love is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mehoff doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Love.
Mehoff gets back to full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Mehoff has his foot on Love's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Love works his way back into a safe position though.
Love pushing down on Mehoff's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Love should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Mehoff tries to roll over but Love keeps him under control.

Love shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Mehoff is refusing to be controlled, as Love sits in half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mehoff is working hard here to advance position.
Love throws an elbow but Mehoff slips to the side and avoids it well.

Mehoff is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Mehoff gets caught flat footed, as Love shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Love postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Mehoff is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Love, into his guard.

Mehoff looking to pass the guard.
Mehoffis looking to pass into half guard but Love pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Love is in guard.

Love is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Mehoff is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Mehoff has escaped and now he's on top!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Mehoff drops back, looking for a kneebar! Love looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Love looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Love!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Love wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mehoff, who protects the arm well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Teddy Love showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

so Mehoff counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Mehoff has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Mehoff connects with a couple of short punches.

Mehoff seems to be looking for submissions.
Love trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Mehoff manages to pass to mount!

Love moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Mehoff trying to control the position from guard on top but Love is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Love manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Mehoff has his takedown stuffed

and Love counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Mehoff utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Teddy Love has got the better of the ground game so far.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Mehoff sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Love's guard.
Jack Mehoff has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Love is looking for a sweep. Mehoff is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Mehoff is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Love to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
Love can't keep his opponent in guard - Mehoff advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jack Mehoff.
Well Love has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
