PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alejandro Arciniega (ranked 2019 p4p, 86 weight class) and Diego Columbo (ranked 1664 p4p, 74 weight class). Arciniega kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is K.A.Y.O Shot ya. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arciniega fails to land with a series of punches.
Columbo now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Columbo throws the left hand but Arciniega avoids the punch easily.
Columbo takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

It looks like Diego Columbo has been cut.
Arciniega throws a hook to the side of Columbo's head but Columbo sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Arciniega thumps Columbo with a low kick.
Arciniega looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Alejandro Arciniega seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Columbo misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Arciniega.
Arciniega swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Columbo takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Columbo's coach down at Hare of the Dog Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Columbo's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Columbo on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
A looping hook to the body misses from Columbo. Arciniega does a little dance to reset his feet.

Columbo throws out a counter right but Arciniega avoids it with no problem.
Arciniega ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Columbo swings away with a body shot that misses
and Arciniega counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

That has opened up Diego Columbo's cut even more.

Arciniega lands a big uppercut and Columbo crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Columbo looks OK. Arciniega waves Columbo back to his feet!

and Arciniega counters with a right hand to the body.
Columbo looks winded!
Arciniega throws a nice outside leg kick.
The fighters circle, before Arciniega throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Columbo's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Arciniega lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
