PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maximus The Killdozer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Bond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Bond's choice of entrance music: Paradise City. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Maximus The Killdozer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, James Bond!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bond throws a right and a left that The Killdozer avoids nicely.
Bond throws a hook but The Killdozer avoids it easily.
The Killdozer shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bond pinned against the cage. Bond gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
No joy there for Bond, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

The Killdozer closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Bond is trying to buck The Killdozer off.
The Killdozer tries to move to mount but Bond blocks the move with his legs.
The Killdozer happy to just control the position for now.
Bond pushes The Killdozer away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, The Killdozer gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Bond wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The Killdozer is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bond knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The Killdozer could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Bond pushes The Killdozer away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, The Killdozer gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Bond is trying to escape the position but The Killdozer is controlling the position.
The Killdozer moves into full mount!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The Killdozer seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Bond for as long as he can get away with.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Bond wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by The Killdozer.
The Killdozer sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Maximus The Killdozer dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Bond gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Bond keeping moving, preventing The Killdozer from controlling successfully.
The Killdozer is standing up over Bond. Bond looks to escape but The Killdozer dives into side control.
The Killdozer misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
The Killdozer advances nicely into full mount.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Maximus The Killdozer just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Bond keeps the fight on the outside.
The Killdozer shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
James Bond is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Bond gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The Killdozer trying to move into half guard but instead Bond has managed to sweep!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bond wants to stand and escape but instead The Killdozer has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Bond wants to stand but The Killdozer is controlling the position.

Bond keeping full guard, as The Killdozer tries to pass.
The Killdozer slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bond wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

The Killdozer looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Bond dodges the ground and pound from The Killdozer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Maximus The Killdozer dominated that second round.
That's time! The Killdozer's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


The Killdozer throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bond's waist but Bond gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing The Killdozer off to one side.

The Killdozer takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.


It looks like Maximus The Killdozer has been cut.
James Bond seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The Killdozer looks for a takedown but Bond sprawls well.
Bond throws the left hand but The Killdozer avoids the punch easily.

The Killdozer fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bond sprawls well initially but The Killdozer persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The Killdozer stops Bond from getting back to his feet.
Bond won't allow The Killdozer to pass to mount.
The Killdozer controlling the pace.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The Killdozer trying to control from half guard but Bond is working away.
Bond is trying to stand up here but The Killdozer is controlling him well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The Killdozer throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Bond cracks The Killdozer with an open hand slap.
The Killdozer closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bond circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Maximus The Killdozer. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bond swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
The Killdozer blocks a jab.
Bond throws a combination but it was largely blocked by The Killdozer.

Bond gets caught flat footed, as The Killdozer shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
