Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Erasmo Christensen (ranked 6845 p4p, 0 weight class) and Garett Steele (ranked 5267 p4p, 371 weight class). Steele has chosen Remedy as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Christensen.
Steele with the counter takedown but Christensen avoids it easily.
Christensen tries to sprawl but Steele drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Steele wants to stand up but Christensen is controlling the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Christensen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Christensen misses with a leg kick
and Steele decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Christensen's guard.

Steele distracts Christensen with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Steele's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Christensen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Steele doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Steele manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Christensen wants to get back to his feet but Steele is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Christensen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Christensen is trying to control the position but Steele postures up.

Garett Steele seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Christensen wants to improve his position but instead Steele has moved into half guard.

Steele is nestled in close to Christensen, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Garett Steele dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Sloppy strikes from Christensen. Those never looked like landing.
Steele is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Christensen throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Steele. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Steele gets the takedown into side control.
Christensen bucks up and tries to throw Steele off but instead Steele has got his back!
Steele has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Will Steele go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Christensen is trying to stand back up but Steele is controlling him
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Steele connects with a nice short shot to Christensen's temple.
It looks like Erasmo Christensen has been cut.
Steele seems to be working for a kimura but Christensen defends the submission attempt.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Steele in particular looking to stall.
Steele in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Christensen tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Steele!

After winning the bout, Garett Steele thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
