Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eduardo Kobrasol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alexander Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Kobrasol!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Mauricio Rocha and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kobrasol shoots in but no luck this time.
Kobrasol fails to land the takedown.
Silva will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Kobrasol looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kobrasol tries to avoid it but Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kobrasol to the ground. Kobrasol escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Silva jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Kobrasol is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Kobrasol and Silva has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Silva tries for a kimura but Kobrasol is defending well.

Silva is keen to just control but Kobrasol is a slippery customer.

Silva is stalling here. Kobrasol is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Silva seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Kobrasol has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Kobrasol thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Kobrasol counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kobrasol lands an elbow that stopped Silva in his tracks for a moment.
Kobrasol is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Kobrasol escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kobrasol tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Silva swivels and escapes.

Silva rushes Kobrasol and presses him up against the cage.
Kobrasol can't break the clinch.
Silva drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kobrasol pulls his leg out and moves away.
Kobrasol throws a push kick but Silva slaps the foot to one side.

Silva shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Silva shoots for a takedown but Kobrasol saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

and Silva counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kobrasol's guard now.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Kobrasol goes for an armbar but Silva turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Silva.

Kobrasol is working an open guard so Silva takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Kobrasol, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes Kobrasol against the cage but Kobrasol circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Kobrasol tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Silva is looking to break free of the clinch but Kobrasol has double underhooks.
Kobrasol lands an elbow just above Silva 's eye.
Silva tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kobrasol just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alexander Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Silva tries to score a body lock takedown but Kobrasol shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Kobrasol lands a nice knee to the body.
Silva changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Kobrasol fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Kobrasol changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Silva tries to avoid it but Kobrasol manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Silva to the ground. Silva escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Silva shoots in but no luck this time.

and Silva counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Silva takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Kobrasol is trying to stand up here but Silva is controlling him well.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Silva seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Silva cracks Kobrasol with a big right hand but Kobrasol just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Kobrasol is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Silva is putting a hurting on Kobrasol here, landing some big shots from side control.

Kobrasol parries the strikes from Silva easily there. Silva is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Kobrasol to escape.
Kobrasol is looking for a sweep.

Silva swings around for an armbar but Kobrasol sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Silva's guard.
Silva thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Kobrasol must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Silva counters with a head kick. That will keep Kobrasol thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Silva, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
