And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nathan Oliver!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Joseph Jones and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oliver wants to clinch.
Oliver tries to clinch there but Jaeger circles away.
Jaeger uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Oliver.
Oliver looks for a takedown but Jaeger sprawls well.
Oliver throws a body punch but Jaeger moves out of range.
Jaeger wants to clinch but Oliver slips to the side

and Oliver decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jaeger's guard.
Jaeger is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Jaeger is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Jaeger escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Oliver gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Jaeger had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Oliver is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Jaeger Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Oliver's back instead.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Oliver is trying to stand back up.
Jaeger misses with a punch to the head.
Oliver manages to reverse the position and now he's in Jaeger's guard. Nice work there by Oliver.
Oliver is looking to work some ground and pound but Jaeger has wrist control.

Jaeger is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jaeger misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jaeger is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Oliver.


It looks like Travis Jaeger has been cut.
Oliver misses with an uppercut.
Oliver ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jaeger moves away.
Oliver avoids the head kick by Jaeger.
Oliver throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Jaeger counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Jaeger throws a head kick but Oliver moves out of range.
Jaeger has his takedown stuffed
and Oliver counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Jaeger thinking.

Nathan Oliver showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Oliver misses with a double jab.
Oliver looks to land a combination but Jaeger avoids it well.
No joy there for Oliver, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jaeger throws a front kick that sends Oliver stumbling back into the cage.
Jaeger feints and then cracks Oliver's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Oliver down.
Oliver changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jaeger tries to avoid it but Oliver manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jaeger to the ground. Jaeger escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Jaeger looking to hit a scissor sweep but Oliver is one step ahead there.
Oliver throws a big right hand that misses.
Oliver throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jaeger works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Oliver drops back, looking for a kneebar! Jaeger looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Jaeger looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Jaeger!

and Jaeger counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Oliver misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Oliver shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jaeger pinned against the cage. Jaeger gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jaeger tries a head kick but it misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jaeger feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Oliver tries to buck Jaeger off but Jaeger is having none of it.
Oliver is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Jaeger closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Oliver to the mat! Oliver manages to get full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Oliver accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Oliver stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Jaeger has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Oliver manages to get his head free but now Jaeger has transitioned to an armbar! Oliver grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Jaeger! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
