Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dennis Nilsen (ranked 3304 p4p, 315 weight class) and Matt Black (ranked 1356 p4p, 166 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Black's choice of entrance music: Manu Chao - Mr. Bobby. Matt Black will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

30 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Black! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nilsen uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Black. Nilsen keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Black. Black connects with a looping right hand.
Black throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Black throws a hook to the side of Nilsen's head but Nilsen sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Black looks to score with a jab to the body but Nilsen is just out of range. Nilsen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Black's guard. Nilsen wants to control from the top but Black keeps moving. Nilsen engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nilsen throws a big right hand that misses. Black looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nilsen is one step ahead there. Black looking to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Black keeping moving, preventing Nilsen from controlling successfully. Black preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Black working a defensive guard here.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Nilsen uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Black. Black throws the left hand but Nilsen avoids the punch easily. Nilsen drops down looking for a counter takedown but Black sprawls and moves away. Nilsen throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Nilsen takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
It looks like Dennis Nilsen has been cut. Black moves into the clinch successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A right handed body shot lands from Nilsen.

Nilsen pulls Black in close to prevent any damage. Black trying to control but Nilsen is working from the bottom. Black must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Nilsen working for a triangle but Black defends it easily.

Nilsen pushes a forearm under Black's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Black is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
