Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Steven Petersen (ranked 1262 p4p, 160 weight class) and Royal Pain (ranked 1456 p4p, 183 weight class). Pain has chosen AC/DC Thunderstruck as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steven Petersen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
29 - 26 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Royal Pain! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paul Aken and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pain misses with a takedown attempt - Petersen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. A slapping leg kick lands for Petersen.
Pain shoots in but no luck this time. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Petersen, right into the meat.
Petersen avoids a kick to the body.
Petersen sizes up Pain with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Pain tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Petersen defends well and Pain ends up having to push Petersen into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Steven Petersen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Royal Pain. Pain wants to clinch up but Petersen keeps it at a distance. Pain shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Pain takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Petersen connects with an inside leg kick. Petersen scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Petersen ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Petersen dips to his left and cracks Pain with an uppercut! A solid leg kick lands there for Petersen.
Nice sprawl there from Petersen as Pain shoots in. Pain throws a right and a left that Petersen avoids nicely. Petersen gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
It looks like Steven Petersen has been cut. Petersen lands with a good body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Petersen lands the left hand. Pain closes the distance but Petersen moves to the side and Petersen counters with a nice uppercut. Petersen gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Petersen seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Petersen pulls Pain in close to prevent any damage. Petersen is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Pain loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Pain is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Petersen seems keen to control Pain's posture. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pain wants to control from the top but Petersen keeps moving. Petersen managing to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pain with a nice head shot there. Pain trying to control but Petersen is working from the bottom. Pain with a nice head shot there. Petersen seems keen to control Pain's posture. Petersen has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Petersen looking for a sweep. Not yet Petersen, not yet. Petersen is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Petersen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pain is one step ahead there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Petersen not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Pain trying to control but Petersen is working from the bottom. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Petersen pulls Pain in close to his closed guard and prevents Pain from doing any damage or advancing position.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Nice uppercut there from Petersen. Pain fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Petersen manages to avoid it. Pain tries for a takedown but Petersen circles away easily and Pain takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Pain doesn't manage to clinch there - Petersen circles away.
Petersen walks into a stiff left hand from Pain.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Petersen throws a nice inside leg kick. Petersen lands a jab-cross combination. Steven Petersen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Pain with a lazy takedown attempt enabling Petersen to counter with a crisp jab. Pain moves into range and clinches up with Petersen. Petersen lands with a right to the head. This has been an exciting period of action! A short right from Pain. Nice body punch from Pain - that landed with a thud.
Petersen is trying to stall.
Pain breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Petersen blocks a head kick by Pain.
A little feinted left hand from Petersen on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Petersen is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. A jab from Petersen does it's job there. Petersen scores with a shot to the body.
Pain avoids a kick to the body.
Pain throws a jab when Petersen was well out of range. Petersen throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Pain takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Pain shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Petersen defends it nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Steven Petersen dominated that round. The cut man is working on Steven Petersen's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Pain moves out of range as Petersen throws a body kick.
Petersen delivers a nice body kick. Petersen lands a body shot.
Pain connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Petersen momentarily.
Pain shoots in and drives through. Petersen sprawls well. Petersen works Pain's body with a nice hook. Pain darts in and clinches Petersen up against the cage. Pain struggles to land a body shot inside as Petersen controls his hands.
Petersen scores with a shoulder strike. A nice right hand lands inside from Petersen. Pain lands with a right to the head. Pain tries a body shot but Petersen blocks it.
Pain lands a body punch in the clinch. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Petersen is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Petersen has Pain pushed against the cage. Petersen blocks an uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice body punch from Petersen. Petersen manages to break the clinch.
Pain drops his hands momentarily and Petersen takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Pain rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Petersen moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Petersen scores with a nice strike. Petersen takes a swing at Pain's ribcage but misses. Pain looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Petersen keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Good leg kick by Petersen there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Petersen with a hook. Petersen scores with a hook. Pain moves into range and clinches up with Petersen. Petersen manages to break the clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A punch combination from Petersen misses. Pain on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Petersen moves out of range of the leg kick from Pain. Royal Pain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Petersen fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pain manages to avoid it. Petersen looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Petersen moves away from the strike by Pain. Petersen scores with a head kick.
Petersen blocks a jab. Petersen lands a front kick. Pain misses with a takedown and Petersen counters with a stiff right hand. Petersen displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Pain throws out the jab. Pain fails in his attempt to clinch. Pain is looking to clinch. Nice uppercut there from Petersen. Petersen avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Steven Petersen is winning the standup battle so far. Petersen feints and then cracks Pain's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Pain down. Petersen stuffs the takedown attempt from Pain. Pain gets slowly back to his feet. Steven Petersen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Royal Pain. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Petersen, right into the meat.
Jab by Petersen. Petersen comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pain misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Pain swings and misses with a shot to the body and Petersen counters with a body kick that stops Pain in his tracks momentarily. Pain is breathing heavily. Pain is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Petersen. Petersen checks a leg kick. Petersen lands a lovely overhand right. Petersen is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Petersen cracks a nice hook into Pain's ribs. Pain takes one to the chin there. Good exchange - Petersen coming out on top. Petersen lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Pain is rocked! BOOM! Petersen lands a beautiful left hook that drops Pain. Pain tries to recover but Petersen is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Pain lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Steven Petersen! A relieved looking Steven Petersen thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. The defeated Royal Pain had this to say: 'Shit, there goes my chance to be like Mike.'.
