PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark David (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Biggie Smalls (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). David comes to the ring accompanied by Eluveitie - Calling The Rain. Smalls has chosen The Notorious B.I.G. - Somebody 's Gotta Die as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark David!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Biggie Smalls!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, William Gold and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A clash of legs there as David blocks the low kick.
Smalls doesn't manage to clinch there - David circles away.
Smalls bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Smalls tries to clinch up.
David throws a series of punches but Smalls avoids them all with ease.

Smalls closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.
A right hook to the body lands for Smalls.
A looping hook to the body misses from Smalls. David does a little dance to reset his feet.
David shoots in for a takedown but Smalls shows good takedown defense.
David takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Smalls closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.
Smalls lands an uppercut.
Smalls tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Smalls lands with a left to the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Smalls lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of David backwards.
Smalls lands on the inside with an uppercut.


David is rocked!
David wants to break free but Smalls has control.
Oh David is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

David breaks the clinch.
David seems to have got his legs back now.
David showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Smalls.

Smalls decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Smalls seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Smalls is nestled in close to David, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Smalls is thwarting David's attempts to control the position.
Smalls wants to free his trapped foot but David is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Smalls chips away with some ground and pound.
Smalls stopping the sweep attempt from David.
David is trying to control the position from the bottom.
David preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Smalls passes David's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Smalls is pressing down on David's thigh, looking to free his foot. David is holding on for now.
Smalls wants to take a breather but David is having none of it.
David slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Smalls working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Smalls won't allow David to get back to his feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
David is breathing heavily.

David pushes Smalls off and gets back to his feet.
David misses with an uppercut.
David throws a right and a left that Smalls avoids nicely.

Smalls gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
David on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
David is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.
Smalls scores with a shot to the side of David's head.

Smalls breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Smalls drives through and clinches with David against the ropes.
Smalls throws a head punch that misses.
The is referee keeping an eye on David - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Smalls lands an uppercut.

That's five minutes gone in the round.
Smalls wants to stall.
David tries for a takedown. No joy.
Smalls stalling the fight.
Smalls tries for a takedown but David manages to get underhooks.
Smalls scores with a hook to the body.
David wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Smalls fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Smalls lands a nice shot to the body.
Smalls drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Mark David has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Biggie Smalls.

Smalls is trying to trip David. He has hold of a leg but David is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Smalls persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
David has momentary wrist control but Smalls slips an elbow through the middle.

Smalls postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

David wants to get back to his feet but Smalls is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Smalls's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Smalls thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Smalls stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. David swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Smalls clinches.
Smalls avoiding damage.
Smalls has a couple of punches blocked by David.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Smalls.
Smalls content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Smalls drops down looking for an ankle pick but David pulls his leg out and moves away.
Smalls is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
David closes the distance and clinches up with Smalls, looking for a takedown. David pushes Smalls against the ropes but Smalls circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

That's seven minutes gone in the round.
David avoids a kick to the body.
David throws a combination that misses
and Smalls counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Smalls fails in his attempt to clinch.

Smalls looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Smalls trying to control the position from guard on top but David is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Smalls postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Smalls prevents David from getting back to his feet.
David avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Smalls lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Smalls missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Smalls wants to control from the top but David keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Smalls is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! David hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
